History
For six years, Northwest Christian students and families have been working to provide Thanksgiving meals for 725 needy families represented by the elementary-aged students that we work with at three underprivileged elementary schools in south Phoenix. This year, our goal is 1325 meals!
Last year, members of our Student Council, led by Northwest Christian senior Bryce Jones, made an appeal regarding this effort to the businessmen and women who make up the Board of the BHHS Legacy Foundation. In response to that presentation, the Foundation had decided to provide Northwest Christian families with the opportunity to receive a Charitable Organization Tax Credit for their qualifying contribution to Legacy Connection (an affiliate of BHHS Legacy Foundation). In addition, the Legacy board decided to match funds until the goal was met. These collected funds were then to be used to bless this holiday project.
NCS and the Legacy Foundation
Thanks to the Arizona Charitable Organization Tax Credit Program, as a state taxpayer, you can help NCS provide holiday food to low-income children and families in our community and be eligible for a 100% direct Arizona State tax credit. Legacy Connection is a qualifying organization with the Arizona Department of Revenue which means your 2015 charitable contributions to Legacy Connection may be eligible for a Tax Credit of up to $400 for couples filing jointly (up to$200 for single individuals or head of household). Also, BHHS Legacy Foundation will provide NCS a dollar-for dollar match of your contribution to its affiliate, Legacy Connection.
